Adam Pope tweeted that the former Middlesbrough man will be back out on the grass in the near future as he steps up his recovery.
This points towards Forshaw being back available for selection sooner rather than later, and while that is certainly good news, it also likely means that Leeds won’t be adding to one area of their squad this month.
No more midfielders
Phil Hay stated earlier this week on Twitter that he doesn’t see Leeds signing another midfielder this window unless Forshaw was unable to recover from his injury.
There had been worries amongst the fanbase that Forshaw’s long-term future could be up in the air as his hip injury has kept him out for a long time, but it seems as if he’s finally on the right track in his road to recovery.
Of course, a new signing in the midfield would have been nice, but Leeds fans shouldn’t be disheartened that an arrival in that spot is now unlikely. In many ways, Forshaw’s return will be like a new signing anyway given how well he played in the early months. No Whites player to start a game possesses a better pass success rate than his this term.
Hopefully, we see the 28-year-old back on the pitch sooner rather than later.
In other news, Leeds fans think they’re signing one man after a reliable journalist dropped a transfer hint.
