da bet nacional: Even when Liverpool are not at full-strength, they continue to win.
da betobet: Jurgen Klopp made nine changes to the side that beat Sheffield United on January 2nd, with the likes of Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott and Neco Williams lining up at Anfield against Everton in the third round of the FA Cup. It was the former who bagged the only goal of the match, which means that the Reds will now be in the next round of the competition.
Joe Gomez was one of just two players to keep his place from the clash against the Blades, along with James Milner, lining up at the heart of the defence. Even though he is just 22 years of age, his Premier League and international experience meant he was one of the leaders of the XI, and it appeared to be a role that he relished.
The former Charlton man was a rock in the back four. He blocked one shot, made one interception and completed two tackles, whilst not one opposition player was able to dribble past him during the 90 minutes. He won four of the five ground duels he contested, whilst he also prevailed in four of the nine he took part in in the air – no mean feat considering he was up against Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who won nine out of 16 and has prevailed in 4.7 per match this term.
His 66% dribble success rate also indicates that he was comfortable on the ball. All in all, it was a good display from the England defender.

Injuries to Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren means that Gomez has been given the chance to shine recently. Until December 7th, he started just one Premier League match, yet he has been in the first XI during the last five. In that most recent run, the Reds have not conceded a single goal, with Klopp’s number 12 playing four of those matches as centre-back. For context, they kept clean sheets in just two of the previous 15 matches of the competition.
Lovren and Matip, valued at £18m and £36m respectively by Transfermarkt, will be worried by this showing, as well as the previous three. Gomez has suddenly put himself in prime position to make the spot alongside Virgil van Dijk on a regular basis, and there is nothing those two can do about it.
In other news, Klopp heaps praise on this man against the Toffees.
